Fujitsu to launch low-cost 7-inch Android 3.1 tablet

Fujitsu Taiwan officials revealed that the company will launch the 7-inch Android tablet in the third quarter of 2011. Unlike the L
fujitsu-tabletifeBook TH40/D tablet PC, which runs on Windows 7 operating system, the new tablet will adopt the latest 3.1 Honeycomb platform, making it one of the early tablets running on this recently announced OS.

Fujitsu said that the new Android tablet will be priced around $347-694, enabling it to compete with any other highly priced tablets available in the market. Fujitsu hopes that the affordable price will boost the sale of the new tablet. While comparing the price with Apple iPad 2, Motorola Xoom and BlackBerry PlayBook, Fujitsu 7-inch tablet would be the cheapest one in the market.

The new Fujitsu Android tablet will feature a 1.5 GHz processor by Intel, Qualcomm or Nvidia. It is also expected that the tablet will have front and rear cameras along with all other connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth etc.
