Normally we convert windows xp (sp2) to windows (sp3) by installing windows xp (sp3) softwares
or third party softwares .But it's an easy task which you can do it manually by doing a simple registry tweak
Step 1
Click run button on start menu or simply press windows+R button

Now type Regedit in box and hit enter
step 2
make a back up of registry(just in case)
browse to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ Control\ Windows"
step 3
Modify the value of "CSD VERSION from 0x00000200" to "0x00000300"
step 4
Close the registry and reboot/restart pc
if you check on the properties of my computer you can see it has been changed into windows xp
