RIM launches BlackBerry PlayBook tablet in India

New Delhi, June 23: Finally, the BlackBerry Boy landed in India. Making the Indian tablet market more competitive, BlackBerry maker Research in Motion announced the launch of its brand new tablet BlackBerry PlayBook in India.

Indians can buy the new 16 GB BlackBerry PlayBook at Rs 27,990, 32 GB version at Rs 32,990 and the 64 GB model at Rs 37,990. RIM said that this tablet will be available through Redington India and Ingram Micro, initially in 1000 retail stores across eight cities and will then expand to other parts of the country.

BlackBerry PlayBook has 7-inch capacitive display and runs on BlackBerry Tablet OS. The touch screen display offers 1024x600 WSVGA resolution that provides maximum entertainment on 4G networks. Packed with 1 GHz dual-core processor, PlayBook is one of the powerful tablet available in India.

This new tablet, which can run Android Apps, offers dual camera, a 3 megapixel front facing for video calling and a 5 megapixel at rear. Other features on PlayBook include Bluetooth, WiFi, HDMI out, MP3, AAC and WMA audio playback etc.
